With spread-only pricing, OANDA's commission is incorporated into the quoted spread. EUR/USD currently starts from 0.8 pips on the published Singapore price table.
Core pricing reduces the quoted spread and adds volume-based commission. Major FX core spreads can start from 0.0 pips, with standard commission of US$3 per 100,000 currency units traded.
One standard FX lot equals 100,000 base-currency units. OANDA's native platform supports unit-based sizing, while MT4 and MT5 use lots and typically start FX trades from 0.01 lot.
Margin requirements vary by pair and client category. OANDA Asia Pacific currently offers retail clients leverage up to 20:1 and accredited investors up to 50:1 on eligible products.
FX positions held across the daily financing cut-off may incur a financing charge or credit. The applicable rate varies by currency pair and can change from day to day.
For a USD-denominated account, this example uses a 0.1 lot EUR/USD position to illustrate how a 1-pip change can translate into approximately US$1 of nominal P&L.
1.0850 → 1.0900, up 50 pips.
50 pips × US$1 per pip = US$50 profit.
1.0850 → 1.0820, down 30 pips.
30 pips × US$1 per pip = US$30 loss.
This simplified example excludes spread, commission, financing, slippage and any currency conversion. It illustrates nominal P&L only and does not represent an actual OANDA quote or trading result.
OANDA Asia Pacific currently lists 68 forex CFDs. Liquidity, spread, margin and trading conditions differ across major, minor and regional currency pairs.
Major pairs combine the US dollar with other heavily traded developed-market currencies and typically account for a large share of global FX liquidity.
Cross pairs compare two currencies without using the US dollar as one side of the pair. Their liquidity and spreads vary considerably by instrument and time of day.
OANDA's range also includes regional and less frequently traded combinations such as USD/SGD, USD/CNH, USD/MXN and USD/ZAR, which can have wider or more variable spreads.

Currency prices respond to changing expectations about monetary policy, growth, inflation and global risk. The same events can also reduce liquidity and widen spreads around releases or market transitions.
Policy decisions, interest-rate expectations and central-bank guidance change the relative yield outlook between currencies.
CPI, labour-market data and wages can change expectations for future monetary policy and create rapid repricing.
High-impact releases such as US payrolls can cause fast moves, wider spreads and less predictable execution conditions.
GDP, PMI, retail and business-activity data shape expectations about the strength of an economy and its policy path.
Cross-border investment, trade balances and hedging demand can affect longer-term currency supply and demand.
Changes in global risk appetite can shift capital between currencies, while thinner liquidity can amplify both price movement and spreads.
